Logan-Rogersville junior Chase Branham showed why he is one of the best players in the nation leading the Wildcats to a 66-64 win over Wheeler (GA), the No. 8 ranked team in the nation by MaxPreps.
Branham scored 32 points on 13-for-20 shooting before fouling out late. He also had four rebounds and three steals. Jack Sutherland and Titus Moore each had 10 points in the win. Marcus Moore scored eight points and Sutton Shook had six to round out the scoring for the Wildcats.
Logan-Rogersville never trailed in the game building a lead as large as 17 in the second quarter. Wheeler battled back late cutting the Wildcat lead to two, 66-64, on a three-pointer by Kevin Savage III with 18 seconds left, but the Wildcats were able to hold on for the final 18 seconds to secure the win.
