Camdenton girls wrestling has 13 out this season.
The key returning wrestlers are senior Selah Segabarth (115 pounds) and sophomores Kylie Preble (130 pounds) and Mila Krenzel (170 pounds).
Segabarth is the lone senior.
“Selah Segabarth will be our main leader,” Camdenton girls head coach Paul Krenzel said. “She has the most experience and is our only senior.”
Freshmen will fill out a good portion of the varsity lineup.
“We have a nice group of freshmen this year from 110 to 170 (pounds),” Krenzel said. “I expect most or all of them to wrestle quite a bit of varsity. With the way they are working now, I expect a lot of growth throughout the season.”
The group brings experience from the youth levels.
“A few of my freshmen were place winners at the youth state tournament,” Krenzel said. “This is the most experienced freshmen group we have had.”
Camdenton opened the season with the Versailles tournament on Nov. 25. They wrestle next in Hallsville on Dec. 1.
“The strength of this team, so far, is their willingness to improve every day,” Krenzel said. “They are always looking to do things better the next time. The strength of this roster heading into the second half of the season will be how much they are able to keep building as the season progresses.”
