Springfield Catholic beat Principia 2-0 to win the program’s third state championship and first since 2012.
Tyler Holum scored both goals for the Irish. The first came at the 10:21 mark of the game. The second came with six seconds left in the contest.
The victory gives head coach Tom Davidsion his first state title in 34 years of coaching. Saturday’s win was the 938th of Davidson’s career (boys and girls combined), which is fifth all-time in Missouri history.
