The Class 1-3 individual state tennis tournaments wrapped up at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield on Saturday.
The area brought home nine all-state finishes including one state title.
The Bolivar duo of Kami Bryan and Jillian Horner won the Class 1 doubles title on Friday taking down North County’s Allison Scott and Kinley Tracy 6-2, 6-1 in the championship match. Bryan and Horner will join their teammates in the Class 1 team tournament Oct. 30-31. Bolivar faces Clayton in the semifinal match at noon on Oct. 30.
In the Class 1 doubles third-place match, it was an all-area affair with Carl Junction’s Brooklin Leggett and Brooke Jasperson beating Laila Ruiz and Autumn Thrasher from Clever 6-4, 7-6 (6).
Layla Masena from New Heights Christian and Monett’s Lizzie Smith were slated to face off in the Class 1 singles fifth place match, but Masena won in a walk over.
Springfield Catholic had three all-state finishes in Class 2 with Catherine Cunningham placing sixth in singles. The Irish doubles teams met it the seventh place match with Sophie Lee and Abby Neville beating teammates Madeleine Jones and Taylor Taggart.
In Class 3, Kickapoo’s Leah Martin was the only all-state finisher placing sevenths overall.
