The Springfield Cardinals finished a record-setting 2025 the right way: with a championship trophy and a champagne-soaked clubhouse. Springfield claimed the Texas League Championship with a 13-1 win over the Midland RockHounds on Wednesday night.
After dropping game one to Midland and fighting for a come-from-behind win in game two of the series, Springfield left no doubt in game three with three runs in the first to jump ahead and never looked back. It’s the first championship for the Springfield Cardinals in the Texas League since 2012 and the franchise’s second overall.
Dakota Harris started the scoring in the first with a two-run single, and Zach Levenson added another run with a single of his own a few batters later.

Brycen Mautz got the start for Springfield on the mound and dominated the RockHounds lineup. Mautz hurled six innings of one-run baseball with strikeouts to drop his postseason ERA to 0.82.
Springfield added eight more runs from the fourth to the seventh inning to put the game out of reach.
Harris, Levenson, Jon Jon Gazdar, and Noah Mendlinger all had three hits on the night. Harris had 4 RBI while Leonardo Bernal drove in three and scored three times. Ramon Mendoza added two RBI in the win.
