Springfield Cardinals’ Manager Patrick Anderson talks post divisional championship win:

A night that started with a 3-hour rain delay ends with the Springfield Cardinals as Texas League North Division Champions.

Springfield beats Tulsa 3-0 to advance to the Texas League Championship for the third time in franchise history (2007 & 2012.)

Cardinals’ starting pitcher Brycen Mautz earns the win, spending five innings on the hill. He struck out four and walked a single driller. Luis Gastelum closed the matchup. He hurled three strikeouts, his final K being the final out of the seven inning shutout performance.

Offensively, a three run bottom of the fourth did all the damage for Springfield. Miguel Ugueto (3-3) ignited the scoring with a RBI single. Then Dakota Harris capitalizes on a throwing error to make his way from second to home. The final run comes from a Jon Jon Gazdar forceout, allowing Ugueto to cross home.

Springfield will play at home Sunday, Sept. 21 in the best of three series of the Texas League Championship round.
