Hurley volleyball will have some key holes to fill coming off an 18-win season, which was the most wins for the program since 2018.

“We lost four starting seniors from last year and they have left some big shoes to fill but I have no doubt this group will use that as fuel to drive them,” Hurley coach Cortney Smith said. “Everyone will be stepping into new roles this year and I am excited to see them embrace it.”

Hayden Young (junior right side), Erica Flores (junior libero), Gloria Usurelu (sophomore outside hitter) and Kaitlyn Drewery (senior middle hitter) all return.

Tiffany Hair (senior middle hitter), Raina Grantham (senior) and Kourtney Wilson (freshman) will be newcomers to watch.

Hurley travels to Wheaton for a jamboree on Aug. 26 with Purdy, Southwest and Wheaton. The Lady Tigers open the regular season on Aug. 29 at home against Fordland.

“This year will be all about learning, growing together and finding rhythm,” Smith said. “These girls give their all on the court, and I’m excited to see where the season takes us.”
