New Covenant softball is coming off the program’s first winning season going 12-8 in its third varsity season in 2024. Eight varsity players return including seven upperclassmen.

This year, New Covenant will get reinforcements from Greenwood in the form of a co-op.

Five seniors are set to lead the way including Ella Armour (third base), Mackenzie Vice (outfield), Sam Schneider (infielder/catcher), Rachel Harper (pitcher/first base) and Riley Wilson (catcher/infielder).

Harper was a first-team all-conference selection and Greater Ozarks Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2024.

Wilson earned first-team all-conference, all-district and all-region last season.

Juniors Lily Green (outfield/pitcher), Emerson Rogers (first base/outfielder) and Peyton Ellis (infielder) also return. Green was named all-district last season.

“Our mission as a team is to stay present in all we do and enjoy the process as we work hard to improve our skills,” New Covenant head coach Stephanie Dauber said. “We look to be stronger both defensively and offensively this year with the addition of our freshmen and Greenwood athletes and will have some added speed on the base path as well.”

New Covenant opens the season on Aug. 30 at the Halfway Tournament.
