Lebanon softball returns four regular starters from last season’s 6-22 squad. Those four are Whitney Hehn, Erica Brown, Hayden McCormick and Aleeiciah Coleman. Marissa Gress also returns after missing all of last season with an injury. Daisy Chastain and Emersyn Young saw significant varsity innings as well.

Brown will handle the catching duties in her junior year.

“She is a very solid catcher all around,” Lebanon head coach Kenyon Breedlove said. “She blocks well, does a great job receiving the ball, and has a fantastic arm. She is expected to hit in the middle of our lineup.”

Chastain, Gress, Hadleigh Young and Peyton Hunt are options in the middle infield. Young and Emma O’Quinn are in the mix on the corners.

In the outfield, look for a combination of McCormick, Hehn, Coleman and Emma Anderton.

The offense should be a strength while the defense works to cut down on errors.

“I have a lot of confidence in our lineup from top to bottom,” Breedlove said. “Defensively, we had way to many errors a year ago. We are looking to clean that up this year.”

Lebanon opens the regular season Aug. 29-30 at the Morrisville Tournament.

“Our identity every day is HWPO: hard work pays off,” Breedlove said. “We want to show up and put in the work every day, knowing success takes time.”
