It was all Fair Grove at the Mid-Lakes Conference Track and Field Championships on Monday in Buffalo. The boys scored 210 points to win the team title by 85 over runner-up Strafford, while the girls scored 179 points to beat runner-up Reeds Spring by 50 points.
On the boys’ side, Fair Grove won 10 of the 19 available event gold medals. Canyon Crowley was a standout sweeping the sprints winning the 100 in 10.95, the 200 in 22.18 and the 400 in 49.36.
Gavin Brock (110 hurdles), Kellen Lair (long jump), Kolton Klindworth (discus) and Kade Brunkhorst (javelin) also won individual gold medals.
Fair Grove’s depth was on display in the relays with wins in the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400.

Hollister’s Sinry Mendoza continued his stellar campaign with the distance sweep of the 800 (1:53.32), 1600 (4:35.61) and the 3200 (9:57.58).
The Fair Grove girls were paced by their own three-event champion in Katrina Cantwell. She swept the distance events taking the 800 (2:34.83), 1600 (5:31.69) and 3200 (12:08.65). Four-sport star Brooke Daniels won both the 300 hurdles (47.60) and the javelin (34.67).
Sofee Garrett won discus (29.39) for Fair Grove’s final individual gold medal.
The 4×100 and 4×200 relays both won for Fair Grove as well.
Ava Lane had a big freshman conference meet winning the 100 (12.80), 200 (26.15) and the 400 (59.69). Catholic’s Victoria Majorahn swept the horizontal jumps winning the long jump (5.00) and the triple jump (10.21).
