The Thayer boys basketball seniors closed out their careers with a fourth consecutive Class 3 third place finish on Thursday in Columbia.

The Bobcats beat Woodland 68-61.

Thayer found itself in a battle with Woodland trailing for almost the entirety of the second and third quarters. Woodland led by as many as 12 points with 2:53 left in the second quarter.

From there, Thayer went to work and closed the game on a 49-30 run from that point on.

Thayer defended the three-point line well holding Woodland to 3-for-23 shooting from beyond the arc in the game. The Bobcats shot well at 55.6% from the field and 46.2% from three.

It was fitting that seniors Easton Pitts and Devin Harrington led the charge for Thayer combining to score 45 points. Pitts had 23 points and four assists. Harrington was a one-man wrecking crew with 22 points, 17 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Thayer concludes the season with a 25-5 record. The Bobcats graduate a five-player senior class that includes Pitts, Harrington, Brandon Prince, Cooper Clark and John Zuchowski.
