ST. LOUIS — Missouri State quarterback Jacob Clark (Sr., Rockwall, Texas) has been named Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Bears’ Saturday road win at Murray State, the league announced Monday.

It is Clark’s fourth MVFC Offensive Player of the Week award this season.

In Saturday’s 59-31 win at Murray State, Clark passed for a career-high 431 yards and tossed four TD passes to lead Missouri State to season highs in total yards (579) and points. His effort moved him past Jay Rodgers (1999) for the Bears’ single-season touchdown record with his 25th of the campaign. He also moved into second-place on MSU’s single-season passing yards list, just 176 behind Jason Shelley’s (2021) season standard (3,347).

In the victory, Clark had nine completions of 20 yards or better and completed 11 straight passes at one point.

Clark has thrown for 200+ yards in every game this season and pushed past 4,000 career passing yards as well in Saturday’s win.

Missouri State’s eight-game win streak is its longest since Oct. 28, 1988 to Oct. 7, 1989 and matches the fourth-longest active streak in the FCS headed into this week’s competition. It is also the longest same-season win streak for the Bears since 1963, while the club’s 6-0 start in league play is its first since 1978.

Also earning MVFC honors this week are DL Mi’Quise Grace of South Dakota (Defensive); QB Jake Curry of Southern Illinois (Newcomer); and K/P Hunter Dustman of South Dakota State (Special Teams).

Coach Ryan Beard’s squad will return to the road this Saturday for a shot at top-ranked North Dakota State, starting at 2:30 p.m.

Missouri State returns home on Nov. 23 to take on defending national champion South Dakota State in the regular-season finale at 2 p.m. on Senior Day at Plaster Stadium.
