College Heights uses big second quarter to pull away for win over Blue Eye

One quarter made the difference in the Class 2 sectional game between College Heights and Blue Eye on Tuesday night.

Blue Eye jumped out to a 17-11 lead after one quarter.

College Heights took the break to rally.

The Cougars came out on fire in the second quarter bot offensively and defensively dominating the quarter with a 20-4 advantage to turn a six-point deficit into a 31-21 lead. College Heights maintained the advantage for the rest of the game with each team scoring 30 second-half points.

Caleb Quade (17 points), Benjamin Schumacher (16 points) and Colsen Dickens (13 points) all scored in double figures for College Heights. Schumacher scored half of his points in the pivotal second quarter.

Cam Fultz (11 points) and Colton Spinning (10 points) paced Blue Eye.

College Heights (19-10) will host Hartville (26-2) in the Class 2 state quarterfinal round on Saturday.
