The MSU upperclassman was previously named to the All-MVC second team as well as earning a spot on the MVC All-Defensive Team for the second straight season.

Clay’s 11.9 points per game scoring average was tops among MoState players in 2022-23, while he also led the club in minutes (960), field goals (139), field goal attempts (297), free throws (62), free throw attempts (92), assists (108) and total points (358). With Clay’s efforts leading the way, the Bears also rank in the top 25 nationally in scoring defense (63.2 ppg) and in the top 50 nationally in blocked shots (4.4).
