Marionville uses fourth-quarter comeback to win Crane tournament

Marionville boys basketball used a huge fourth quarter to come back and beat RUSH 58-56 in the Crane Tournament championship game.

RUSH jumped out to a 17-9 lead after one quarter and a 33-22 lead at the half. That advantage was pressed to 52-39 after three quarters.

Then Marionville let it fly from three and locked down on defense.

The Comets knocked down five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and held RUSH to just four points on the way to a 19-4 advantage in the frame and a 58-56 win.

Marionville got scoring from just three players led by Blane Young’s 26-point output. He hit five threes in the game. Tournament MVP Gage Guerin was just behind him with 23 points including seven 3-pointers. Wil Carlton added in nine points to round out the scoring for Marionville.

As a team, Marionville hit 12 3-pointers in the game.

RUSH was led by Garrett Rudy’s 17 points and 8 assists. Tanner Engel also scored in double figures with 15 points.
