Scott Wolf takes over as head coach of the Pleasant Hope girls basketball team this year. He inherits a team with two returning all-conference players coming off a 12-win season. Those 12 wins were the most for the program since the 2012-13 season.

The returning all-conference senior guards are Jaylin Miner and Kylie Tucker.

“We have a duo leadership in outstanding senior guards,” Wolf said. “Having been four-year starters, there isn’t much they can do on the basketball court. We are going to ask them to expand their leadership roles to help develop our younger ladies. These two seniors are great people and represent our community well.”

Miner averaged 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals per game last season on her way to honorable mention all-conference honors. Tucker, a second-team all-conference player, averaged 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals per game.

Graci Wolf (junior), Lexi Perryman (sophomore) and Kenzie Bader (sophomore) are all returning varsity players.

“They are great players in their own,” Coach Wolf said. “They will control the paint and give us scoring presence in the low post, while also giving us flexibility to press and run the floor.”

Graci Wolf averaged 4 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals per game as a sophomore.

Ilandria Shuler is coming out to play for the high school team for the first time as a senior.

“We are excited to have Ilandria come back out and play basketball this year,” Wolf said. “She is a versatile player that can play guard or forward.”

Freshmen Jordyn Miner and Addison Rogers will look to make immediate varsity impacts.

“This summer Jordyn was a great asset to our team. Her defense and ability to handle the ball are both great benefits to our team,” Wolf said. “During summer camp, Addison showed was willing to learn forward and guard positions and did a good job filling in as needed. She will be an asset to the team.”

Pleasant Hope opens the season Nov. 21-23 at the Fair Play Tournament.

“Coming together and staying together as a team as we work our way through a tough schedule will be key this year,” Wolf said. “Not settling on being good, but striving to be great, will be the test.”
