PHILADELPHIA – Missouri State outfielder Dakota Kotowski signed a professional contract with the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday and will head to the Phillies complex in Clearwater, Fla., to begin his pro career.

Kotowski is coming off a prolific power-hitting senior season in which he launched 24 home runs to rank fifth in MSU history and 11th nationally. His 44 career long balls rank seventh at Missouri State, while his 2022 and career totals are both second-best among players that began their MSU careers after the year 2000.

A native of Channahon, Ill., Kotowski was a four-year starter for the Bears who ended his career with 44 homers, 120 RBI and a .510 slugging percentage in 164 games.

He is the 152nd professional signee in MSU baseball history and third from the 2022 club, joining Drake Baldwin (3rd round draft pick of Atlanta) and Jake McMahill (free agent with Cincinnati).
