Camdenton names Daniel Eidson new head boys basketball coach

untitled-1-43

The Camdenton Laker Athletic Department is proud to highlight our boys’ basketball program and introduce our longtime assistant coach in his new role as Head Boys Basketball Coach!

Daniel Eidson will take over as the Laker Head coach for the 2022-2023 school year. Daniel was a three-sport standout at Camdenton, leaving indelible impressions on his teammates and coaches and helped to put a State Championship ring on each of their fingers! Daniel went on to play football in college and beyond, earning a powerful perspective on sports and their true value.

Daniel has coached Camdenton R-III basketball at the middle school, freshman, and JV levels before taking over the head spot for next season. Coach Eidson currently works at Oak Ridge Elementary as the PE coach and will move to the HS building to continue serving our students next year. Coach Eidson will continue to coach freshman football and is working to prepare our students during the offseason. Coach Eidson taps into a diverse set of experiences to help him instruct, guide, and mentor our students. As a Combat Engineer, and soon to be 2nd Lt. in the Missouri National Guard, he will be entrusted with a group of men and expected to direct those soldiers when needed and teach them to self-direct in a way that will accomplish goals in the safest manner possible. The lessons learned in such a nonschool environment can provide valuable lessons to all involved. Our basketball students will benefit from the experiences Coach Eidson has during his time with the military.

Coach Eidson is supported where it counts by his wife and children. Wife of nine years Megan, works at Lake Regional, and together they have three children: Ellie (6), Asher (4), and Anna (2). Gymnastics, cheer, soccer, t-ball, fishing, and hunting fill their time and round out a father, husband, teacher and coach for our kids here at CHS. We are thankfully blessed to have a successful Laker back to serve our kids.
