St. LOUIS – Missouri State right-hander Adam Link was named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week Monday after his dominant performance March 25 against Nevada.

Link, a Springfield native and graduate transfer from Middle Tennessee, pitched eight shutout innings against the Wolf Pack, facing one batter over the minimum in the Bears’ 7-0 win.

He carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning and allowed three singles and a walk in the game while striking out four against a Nevada lineup that entered the game scoring 8.4 runs per contest on a .303 team batting average. Only one Wolf Pack runner advanced as far as second base.

Link and the Bears (12-9) open a seven-game road trip Tuesday with a 6 p.m. game at Wichita State.
