Kickapoo’s Bella Fontleroy named Miss Show-Me Basketball

Kickapoo senior Bella Fontleroy has been named Miss Show Me Basketball by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.

Fontleroy, who was named Gatorade Player of the Year for Missouri earlier this month and is signed with Baylor, led the Kickapoo Lady Chiefs to a state runner-up finish in Class 6. She averaged 23.4 points and 11 rebounds per game.

She joins Carl Junction’s Katie Scott (2020), Strafford’s Hayley Frank (2019), Kickapoo’s Heather Ezell (2005), Kickapoo’s Laura Granzow (2003), Nixa’s Terianna Wolford (2000), West Plains’ Kerensa Barr (1999), Marionville’s Marsha Burton (1993), Marshfield’s Melissa Grider (1991) and Marshfield’s Melody Howard (1990) as local players to win this honor.

The other nominees for Miss Show-Me Basketball included: Ashton Judd (West Plains), Averi Kroenke (Columbia Rock Bridge), Ayden Shannon (Wellington-Napoleon), Saniah Tyler (Incarnate Word Academy), Anna Finley (Owensville), Cadence (Cady) Pauley (Milan) and Claire Affolter (Newburg).

Mr. Show-Me Basketball was awarded to Blair Oaks’ Luke Northweather. Other nominees for Mr. Show-Me Basketball included: Brandon Mitchell-Day (MICDS), Garrett Davault (Norwood) and Tony Osburn (Mound City)
