Billings girls basketball will be a young team this year with just one senior expected on the roster.

That lone senior is four-year starter Haili Ashley. Ashley, who is a forward, will be expected to step up her scoring.

Bella Harter is a junior entering her third year as a starter. She averaged 18.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore on her way to second-team all-conference honors.

Kenzie Clendenning and Ryleigh Gearing are two returning sophomores with extensive varsity experience. Clendenning is a guard that brings quickness and a nice shooting touch. Gearing brings size and shooting.

Junior guard Paula Culver returns with a small amount of varsity experience. She has good speed and plays good defense. Brooke Collison is a freshman with good size who will play right away.

“We should have good speed with enough experience back to compete,” Billings head coach Randy Towe said. “We will have to find scorers that have not had to score before. We will also have to improve on taking care of the ball.”

Billings will open the season Nov. 29-Dec. 3 at the Everton Tournament.

“We will be a young team that should get better as they gain more experience,” Towe said. “We hope to have a good year, but we will have to stay healthy with very little depth.”
