Billings boys basketball will be facing a rebuilding year this season after graduating the top seven players from last year’s team that won 16 games. That included three all-conference selections.

Juniors Luke Vesci (guard) and Brayden Garbee (guard) will be team leaders this year. Vesci can score inside and out. Garbee is a good outside shooter and a smart player.

Junior guard Tanner Parris also returns. He is a quick guard that plays strong perimeter defense.

Senior Carson Duvall along with juniors Zach Bos, Cale Plowman, Marcus Stnaley and Jason Sekscinksi will be new players to watch.

Duvall handles the ball well in pressure. Bos is a good post that can guard all positions and rebounds and scores well in the paint. Plowman, who can score in multiple ways and is very athletic, could compete for starting minutes. Stanley is athletic and can score in the paint. Sekscinski is a quick guard that works hard on the defensive end.

Senior Quentin Gold along with sophomores Grant Heimer, Noah Coble and Gabe Boyer could also see varsity minutes.

“Quick guards that can play full court defense and push the ball on offense” will be a strength for Billings according to head coach Kendall Tilley.

Billings will need to “improve outside shooting, taking care of the ball and guarding in the half court” to be successful according to Tilley.

Billings will host Everton and Walnut Grove for a jamboree on Nov. 16 before opening the regular season on Nov. 23 at Chadwick.
