Lamar volleyball finished 18-8-1 overall last year. The Lady Tigers must replace a strong senior class that included three all-conference selections.

“Last year’s seniors loved to win and they would put extra time in the gym to make that happen,” Lamar head coach Andrea Fast said. “It’s nice to have a naturally competitive group of girls, so I will miss that about them, but also just the fact too that they were an amazing group of girls who were a lot of fun.”

The Lady Tigers will rely on the leadership of reigning Big 8 West Conference Player of the Year Kyleigh Talbott. Talbott will play all over the court in her senior season.

“Kyleigh is special for lots of reasons. She’s naturally athletic, has a competitive edge, loves to challenge herself, and is kind to her teammates,” Fast said. “Kyleigh leads by example. I also expect her to continue to improve as a volleyball player. Her stats will only improve.”

She will be joined by a trio of returning classmates in seniors Emma Johnson (setter), Josey Adams and Rae Crossley. Adams and Crossley are six-rotation players.

“This groups seems to be meshing well. They get along and have a lot of fun together on and off the court. They are also coachable and will make adjustments to win,” Fast said.
