The College Heights girls dominated the Class 1 state track meet with four first-place finishes and four more all-state finishes to win the Class 1 team title with 62 points, which was 19 points ahead of runner-up Princeton with 43 points.
Addison Lawrence had a hand in all four of the titles for College Heights. She won the 100 and 400-meter dashes in times of 12.50 and 57.50. She ran the anchor legs on the champion 4×100 and 4×200 relays. Those relays also included Jayli Johnson, Allie Fiscus and Lauren Ukena.
Jayli Johnson earned her third and fourth all-state honors by placing sixth in the 200 and running a leg on the third-place finishing 4×400. Katie Moss, Grace Bishop and Ukena were also a part of the relay. Bishop earned two all-state honors individually in with a second place finish in the 3200 and fourth in the 1600 to round out the all-state finishes for College Heights.
Greenwood’s Keely Roberts won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 16.18. Galena’s Chalice Sherer finished runner-up in the event.
Liberal’s Abby Barton was the final individual champion for the area on the girls’ side with a time of 5:32.26 to win the 1600. Barton finished fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:29.77.
Greenfield’s Marlie Wright earned two all-state honors in the horizontal jumps with third place finishes in both the triple and long jump.
On the boys’ side, the area had two champions in Lakeland’s Garrett Strange in the discus and Liberal’s Case Hampton in the pole vault. Garrett Strange was also runner-up in the discus.
Morrisville’s Gavin Duchscherer (5th in the 1600 and 7th in the 3200) and Greenfield’s Conner Lewandowski (6th in the 400 and 8th in the 100-meter dash) also earned two all-state honors.
