Willard’s Caden Lingenfelser has had a huge impact on the Tigers young program.

“Our program is only three years old, or two years with COVID, so he’s added just a lot. He makes kids better because of how successful he is,” said Tigers tennis coach Ty Bills.
“I joined tennis when I was around five years old. I’ve played multiple other sports, but I’ve always come back to tennis,” Lingenfelser said.
As a sophomore whose never played high school tennis because of COVID, he’s throwing up serves as the team’s number-1 tennis player and he finished the regular season with a perfect 31-0 record.
“It’s a little bit of pressure, but I know I’ve been working hard for this all my life. I’ve been working just so I can be ready to handle the pressure, and be able to do what I do best and have fun out there,” said Lingenfelser.
His motivation comes from his own family.
“Definitely my mom, she had breast cancer over the summer. Whenever I have a bad attitude, I just think of her. She never had a bad attitude. She always took it head on, and just fought through it,” said Lingenfelser.[wpbvideo id=”889461″]
