Kickapoo dominant in third-place game victory

Kickapoo dominated Staley 79-47 to claim third place in Class 6.

The Lady Chiefs raced out to a 22-12 lead after one quarter and a 43-20 lead at the half.

Bella Fontleroy led Kickapoo with 24 points for Kickapoo while shooting 9-for-14 from the floor. She also pulled down 12 rebounds in the game.

Indya Green had 17 points and 12 rebounds for Kickapoo. She became Kickapoo’s all-time leading scorer in the game passing Jenny Anderson (’95) who had 1,755 career points. Green finishes her career with 1,764 points.

Rachel Senn also scored 17 points for Kickapoo. Senn did most of her damage from beyond the arc going 5-for-10 from three.

Kaya Goldsby gave Kickapoo four players in double figures with 11 points. Kya Johnson only scored two points but led the team in assists with six assists while pulling down seven rebounds.

Kickapoo’s advantage on the boards was staggering. The Lady Chiefs out-rebounded Staley 54-15. That included a 20-2 advantage on the offensive boards. Kickapoo shot 49.2% for the game while holding Staley to a 33.3% mark from the field.

The Lady Chiefs finish the season with a 28-3 record.
