“She bleeds for her team, she loves her team, she has her team’s back,” said Ash Grove girls basketball coach Bryan Dean.
Ash Grove’s Khloe Moad has always treated her team like family, and for her, family is always number one.
“It means everything to have my family look up to me, my nieces come to everything. My mom was always my coach since I was a little girl too until last year. She’s been so supportive. My mom’s my number one fan,” said Ash Grove senior Khloe Moad.
Khloe grew up watching the Missouri State Lady Bears, becoming a fan as a young girl.
“My sister’s best friend was Aubrey Buckley. She played at Missouri State and then went overseas to play for a little bit, so I grew up in that environment. They have great supporting fans and everything, the team’s amazing, and there’s just nothing wrong with that program,” Moad said.
So when she got an offer to play for the Lady Bears, she committed without hesitation.
“I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to play with an amazing program especially because it’s everything I’ve wanted. Mox told me I would have this feeling if I wanted to go to this school, and I had that feeling. I have no regrets at all with my decision at all,” said Moad.

Khloe expects to be a guard or a stretch forward, but her role on a team goes far beyond Xs and Os.

“Yeah you can say she has the profile of a good college basketball player, but she also has the heart of a champion and wants to play for a team, not just for her number, she plays for the front of her jersey, so that’s a good thing,” Dean said.

Next year, she’ll be combining the things she loves the most; basketball and family.

“I think I’m the most excited about getting to play college basketball, it’s a big dream. Then also to stay home and have all of my fellow hometown fans to cheer me on,” said Moad.
