Billings volleyball split its first two matches of pool play, but was swept in the final match to finish 2-4. The Lady Wildcats will play for third place tomorrow.

“Tomorrow we have to come out hard and fight point-for-point, and make sure that we try to finish our game; not get comfortable with a lead and let back up,” Billings head coach Brandi Sillavan said.

Billings came out strong with a 25-16 win over Calvary Lutheran to open pool play. The Lady Wildcats fell in the second set 26-24. In the second match, Billings again came out on fire with a 25-22 win over Santa Fe before falling 25-18 in set two. They were swept by an Advance team that went 6-0 on the day 25-8, 25-11 to close out pool play.

Overall, Billings played well as a team today according to Sillavan.

“I think we did a lot better adjusting to what we needed to adjust on. We played together as a team all day. I am excited for tomorrow,” Sillavan said.

The Lady Wildcats will have a showdown with Calvary Lutheran for third place.

“It was the first game of the day. We came out really hard the first set and then kind of let up the second set. As long as we come out (strong) and play the whole game I think we have a shot a taking third,” Sillavan said.

Billings faces Calvary Lutheran at noon for third place on Saturday.
