Thayer volleyball will be chasing its first double-digit win season since 2011 this year.

“Our goal is to build our program one step at a time. We will have to prepare and focus on each opponent and try to build on our success,” Thayer coach Jennifer Seibert said.

Jurnee Rolen is the lone returning all-conference player for the Lady Bobcats. She earned honorable mention all-conference honors for her work as Thayer’s setter.

“As a returning senior setter, Jurnee Rolen will need to be one of the leaders on this team for us to be successful. She will need to develop a mindset to be a driving force and an inspiration to our team,” Seibert said.

Fellow seniors Chloe Huskey and Kayla Edwards also return to the varsity lineup. Huskey will play outside and middle hitter while Edwards will be libero.

Brittan Hirsch (senior outside hitter), Ana Gonzalez (senior outside hitter), Katie Wade (junior middle hitter), Kairi Smith (junior outside hitter/setter), Maisie Pittman (junior outside hitter), Madison Bowers (junior middle hitter), Makayla Howerton (junior outside hitter), Callie Johnson (sophomore outside hitter/setter), Avery Bridges (sophomore outside hitter) and Teagen Phelps (sophomore outside hitter) are all vying for varsity playing time.

“For this to be a successful season we need to take it one game at a time. Our goal is to make sure we play right along with the teams we play year after year. We will never give up and when the game is over win or lose we can walk off the court knowing we played as well as we could and leave no regrets on the floor,” Seibert said.
