Golf fans who make the trip to the Legends of Golf get to be part of an incredibly unique event.

This year, it’s not just the legends or the Top of the Rock venue that has fans excited.

“It’s the next best thing to playing yourself is watching these guys come through,” said Ray Hanna, who is at the Legends of Golf for the second time.

Most golf fans would say the same.

“We enjoy seeing the golfers we’ve watched our entire life growing up and we get to see them up and close and personal,” said Karen Smith, who is at Legends of Golf for the fourth time.

All time greats like Tom Watson give fans the chance to see the stars of the past.

Of course, there’s also the top of the rock facilities

“The venue is beautiful, the views you get, I mean the atmosphere. You come here and you kind of feel at home,” said Travis Lee, who is at Legends of Golf for the first time.

Plus, some very special guests add another element for fans.

“The celebrities man, it’s real cool just to see people that you don’t get to see every day out playing golf,” Lee said.

But there’s something else catching everyone’s attention this year.

The new Ozarks National Golf Course, being played at the Legends of Golf for the first time.

“So far, we’ve been driving each year, we knew it was coming, to see if we could catch a glimpse,” Smith said. “We sure think it’s as beautiful as all the other courses”

Designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, it’s not only beautiful, but challenging for the players. That’s something the fans appreciate

“It’s nice and windy and a challenge for the players, you can see they’re having to deal with the course and the wind,” Hanna said.

Lee says he plans to stop by and see Ozarks National Golf Course.

Hanna says that’s a really good idea.

“We’re up close and it’s just fun, it’s a great experience, everyone should be here,” Hanna said.

It’s safe to say the early reviews of the new course are on the positive side.
