Lebanon hosted the Ozark Conference wrestling tournament at the Cowen Civic Center on Thursday. The Yellowjackets made the home fans proud with a dominant tournament in which they won the team title. They placed 13 wrestlers in championship bouts with wins in six of those matches.
“It nice to bring the title back to Lebanon. Waynesville has had the trophy I think eight out of the last nine years. Hopefully we can keep the trophy for a while. Hopefully this tournament will carry over in the district tournament,” Lebanon head coach Randy Roark said.
The Rolla Bulldogs took second while the Camdenton Lakers finished third as a team. The Waynesville Tigers rounded out the top four.
Rolla’s Hunter Hoffman started out the final round with a 10-0 major decision win over fellow freshman Josiah Perryman from Lebanon at 106 pounds.
Lebanon picked up its first title of the evening at 113 pounds when Cole Patten beat Camdenton’s Jacob Fuglsang by a 6-0 decision.
The 120-pound match was a highlight match coming in with Rolla’s Alexander Sederburg and Camdenton’s Grant Garrett sporting a combined record of 69-5. Sederburg would work for a pin 1:22 into the second period to take the title.

That would start a run of Rolla titles as Zack Fennell (18-0) beat Lebanon’s Hunter Lewis 3-1 at 126 pounds. Nathan Pulliam (19-0) picked up a major decision over Cole Roark at 132 pounds to give Rolla three titles in a row.
Lebanon’s Reagan Mowery ended Rolla’s run by pinning Bulldog junior Dathan Mickem in the 138-pound final.
Waynesville’s Gaven Sax was dominant at 145 pound with a 16-0 tech fall over Lebanon’s Elijah Arl.
“He has been working hard all year and has been very focused on his goal this year. Gaven is a very good wrestler and it has been awesome to coach him, with him being just a junior we get to have him one more year,” Waynesville head coach Lucas Smith said.
The 152-pound title bout between Lebanon junior Trevor Christian and Waynesville senior Micheal Cassidy was one of the most anticipated of the night with both wrestlers being returning state placers.
Christian would end the suspense in the second period with a pin at the 3:20 mark of the match. Three of Cassidy’s four losses this season have come at the hands of Christian.
Rolla picked up its fourth title of the night at 160 pounds with Hayden Fane beating Lebanon’s Colt Adkins by a 4-0 decision.
Lebanon won four of the final five matches with Jayden Ivey (170 pounds), Jake Henson (182 pounds), Landen Smith (195 pounds) and Race Cottingham (285 pounds).
Camdenton’s Cort Petty broke up the Yellowjacket run by beating Lebanon’s Jon Berry by pin 91 seconds into the 220-pound final.
Next up will be the district tournaments a week from Friday with state the following Thursday-Friday in Columbia.
