The Crocker Lady Lions were able to come back and get the final win against them in the Class 1 District 2 Championship game on Saturday.

The game began to look good for Stoutland as the Tigers were able to get two runs batted in thanks to a homerun by Kylee Bartlett who was able to also score in Melanie Hubbs. That gave the Lady Tigers a 2-0 lead early in the game.

The pitchers then began to put on a pitching duel as neither team scored in the second, third, or fourth innings of play. Both the Lady Lions and Lady Tigers were able to end their half of each inning on a strike out or fly out during that time.

Crocker was able to get Abigail Posten on base when she reached by an error to help set up the game winning inning in the bottom of the sixth. Posten then stole two more bases. Two more Lions were able to get singles just behind the infield and that gave Crocker a loaded base situation. Morgan Wall was up to bat next as she hit a grand slam over the 220 feet sign in center field with no outs in the inning. The Lady Lions closed out the sixth with a 6-2 lead.

The Stoutland girls had one more shot in the top of the seventh to make their comeback. Hubbs was able to get a leadoff single in the inning to give them hope. They quickly fell when the next Lady Tiger was stuck out. The next batter hit a ball to the Voiles of Crocker. She then was able to get the out at second and the runner was also tagged at first base to end the game.

The Crocker girls will host Norwood on October 17th at 6 PM at Crocker High School for the Sectional game.
