Drury Lady Panthers assistant coach and Waynesville native Katie Pritchard has been announced as the next girls’ basketball head coach at Marshfield High School. Pritchard will exit Drury’s program after four seasons as an assistant.

During Katie Pritchard’s tenure with Drury as an assistant coach, the Lady Panthers won four Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division titles and three league championships. She helped the program to four NCAA-II national tournament appearances, three consecutive trips to the Midwest Regional championship game and the Lady Panthers compiled a 113-16 record with a 67-5 mark in conference play in the last four years.

Pritchard played for the Lady Panthers from 2008-13 and ranks fourth on Drury’s all-time scoring list with 1,541 career points. She is the program’s all-time leader in three-pointers having made 355 in her career. She graduated from Drury in 2013 with a degree in Education and also holds a Master’s Degree from Drury in Special Education.

“I would like to thank everyone at Drury University for helping me grow as a person and a coach the past four years,” said Pritchard. “The opportunity to play and coach for a program so rich in tradition was an incredible experience. I will always be a Lady Panther at heart, and I wish continued success for the coaching staff and players. I am excited to start this new journey as a Marshfield Bluejay.”

The Marshfield job will be Pritchard’s first head coaching position.

“I would like to thank Katie for her dedication to our program both as a player and as a coach,” said Miller. “We couldn’t be more proud and excited for her as she fulfills her dream of becoming a head coach. The Marshfield basketball program is rich with tradition, and I know she will lead that group with the same amount of passion and dedication that she has shown here at Drury.”

The Drury women’s basketball program, in their 18 years, has appeared in 15 NCAA-II national tournaments, won three regional championships, won seven conference titles and 11 division championships in the GLVC.
