Bolivar hosted Helias in the Class 4 state sectional on Tuesday. The contest was a rematch from last year’s sectional round (where Helias got the 10-0 shutout).
Liberators’ Zach Howard was a force at the plate putting up the first run of the game — an RBI single that scored Chase Hampton. Howard drove in another run in the fifth inning to cut the Helias lead to 3-2. But, the Liberators’ only led for the first half-inning. Helias got the win 4-2, and will play Aurora in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
