SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield Cardinals are excited to partner with Aaron Sachs & Associates to host the second annual Dinner on the Diamond at Hammons Field, featuring former St. Louis Cardinal and 2006 World Series MVP David Eckstein.

“After the success of last year’s first annual Dinner on the Diamond, we’re incredibly excited to bring fan-favorite David Eckstein to Hammons Field,” Aaron Sachs said. “It will be a truly amazing night for Cardinals fans to sit down with their World Series MVP and get to hear his remarkable story.”

Eckstein holds a special place in Springfield history as the first Cardinal to record an at-bat at Hammons Field when he led off the St. Louis Cardinals Exhibition Game on April 2, 2005. To further commemorate that moment, we’re thrilled to announce the Aaron Sachs & Associates David Eckstein First Batter Bobblehead Giveaway (2,000 fans) on Sept. 2 against the Tulsa Drillers.

“David Eckstein will always be a special part of both St. Louis and Springfield Cardinals History,” Springfield Cardinals Vice President & General Manager Dan Reiter said. “We think our fans will enjoy re-living the magic from our Inaugural Season Exhibition Game with the David Eckstein First Batter Bobblehead.”

Dinner on the Diamond with David Eckstein is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22 on the award-winning playing surface at Hammons Field and will benefit a non-profit organization to be announced at a later date.

Additionally, there will be a VIP Meet and Greet, during which fans can get additional autographs, take pictures and chat with David Eckstein.
