Aurora hires Craig Weldy as head football coach

AURORA, Mo. — The Aurora High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Craig Weldy as the new head varsity football coach.  The Aurora R-VIII School Board confirmed the hiring at a board meeting Monday night.

Coach Weldy is a 1974 graduate of Aurora High School, played football at Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Agricultural Business.

Coach Weldy and his wife of 37 years, Cheryl, run a cattle farm just outside Aurora. They are the proud parents of three sons, Clay, Jacob and Kyle.

Coach Weldy has served in various positions for the Houn’ Dawg football program since 2002, most recently as the head Jr. High Coach. Coach Weldy brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to the program and we look forward to his tenure leading the Aurora Houn’ Dawg football program.
