A monster on the glass and in the low post, Emmert averaged nearly 18 points and 8 rebounds per game as the Liberators finished 24-5 overall and won a second-straight district title. He was big in Bolivar’s marquee games, posting 25 points and 12 rebounds against Kickapoo and 17 points and 14 rebounds versus Nixa. The COC-Small Player of the Year concluded his junior seasons as Bolivar’s third all-time leading scorer, second all-time leading rebounder and third all-time leading shot blocker. Barring injury, he will become No. 1 in all three categories next season.

Already one of the most accomplished scorers in Ozarks high school basketball history, Johal needed just 55 games to reach the 1,000 career points plateau. He had seven 30-plus point games as a sophomore, including a 41-point outburst against Lebanon. Johal averaged 25 points per game and finished the season with 724 total points, which is also the second-most in one season in program history. Johal’s efforts helped Glendale go 19-9 overall and win its first district title in 10 years.

McNew sparked Mountain Grove’s first Final Four appearance since 2004. The two-time SCA Player of the Year averaged 21 points and 6 rebounds per game as the Panthers finished 28-5 overall and 3rd in Class 3. McNew exploded for 16 first-quarter points against defending state champion Barstow in Mountain Grove’s state semifinal game. He was an all-state selection in Class 3.
Jared Ridder, Kickapoo

The sweet-shooting Ridder helped Kickapoo to one of its best seasons ever. A 6’7” forward, Ridder tallied 19 points and 6 rebounds per game as the Chiefs went 29-3 overall and finished as runner-up in Class 5. Ridder scored 618 points in his junior season, the fourth highest single-season total ever at KHS. Ridder was Ozark Conference Player of the Year, a Class 5 all-state selection and a member of the 2016 Tournament of Champions All-Tournament team.
