The 39th Lions All-Star Basketball Classic returns to Springfield Sat. June 11 at Baptist Bible College on East Kearney.  The annual event pits Springfield's top senior basketball players against the area's best.  Proceeds benefit "Saving Sight".  In the 38-year history of the classic the games have netted over $29,355 for the project.

The girls game is at 6:00 pm with the boys game to follow.  The girls will have a 3-point shootout at halftime of their game.  The boys will have a dunk contest during their halftime.  This is the second year for these extras.

The City girls took last year's game 66-52, but trail the all-time series 23-12.  The Area boys won last year's game 95-86, stretching their all-time series lead to 22-16.
