Drury slaps season-high 18 hits in 13-8 win at SBU

BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Drury baseball Panthers racked up a season high 18 hits led by Ryan Wadkins ho had four hits, three runs and an RBI to earn a 13-8 non-conference victory over area rival Southwest Baptist here on Tuesday.

Drury improved to 5-11 enter and Southwest Baptist falls to 9-10.

Drury crossed two runs in the first on a two RBI single by Christian Mingo and an RBI single by Southwest Baptist answered with five runs on three hits and an error in the bottom of the first. 

Drury clawed back into the lead in the third and scored four runs on four hits and an error paced by Magno and Wilmes once again having RBIs along with an RBI double by Devan O'Bryan.

SBU tied it up on a two run homer by Jeff Bouchard in the bottom of the fifth before Drury erupted by scoring six runs on six hits and an error in the sixth.  The Panthers scored runs in the sixth by an O'Bryan homer, an RBI triple by Ryan Colombo an RBI single by John Goodrich a two run SBU error and an RBI triple by Wilmes for a 13-7 lead.

SBU added their final fun on an RBI single by Chance Wolfe in the ninth as Drury claimed a 13-8 victory.

Colombo added three hits, two runs and an RBI with Magno finishing with two hits, three runs and three RBIs and Wilmes had two hits and three RBIs.  SBU posted 11 hits and was led by their leadoff hitter Caleb Snead who had four hits and scored a run and Caleb Sherban and Sean Murley who each had two hits and scored a run.

Austin Simms (2-2) earned the win for the Panthers and Jay Kaufman (1-4) received the loss for the Bearcats.
