Patrick Mahomes visits Springfield to raise money for Boys & Girls Club

On Tuesday, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes stopped by the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield.

“I’m excited to go out there and just get to enjoy being around those guys and inspiring them any way possible,” Mahomes said.

Which would eventually lead up to the Steak and Steak dinner – thousands of people packed into the University Plaza Hotel Convention Center, to help raise critical funding to support 2,500 disadvantaged young people in Springfield.

“It’s been crazy, but it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve got to go to a lot of great places and meet a lot of great people, excited for all these opportunities I’ve been given,” said Mahomes.

Giving back to kids in the community is something that the young quarterback is passionate about, and now he has a platform to do so.

“It’s been a lot of fun. I’ve always envisioned going out and helping the community as much as possible and now it’s coming to fruition,” said Mahomes.

Mahomes is passionate about supporting kids around the nation, and that’s why he started his own foundation called 15 and the Mahomes.

“Through the organization we’re going to have 15 different pillars every year, 15 different organizations that we work on, so that’s where the 15 goes into,” Mahomes said. “I want to every year go to 15 different organizations and give them money in order to give kids opportunities to give them the resources they need in order to live an amazing life.”
