BOLIVAR — Glendale’s Dawson Meek shot a 68 on day one of the Missouri Class-4 State Golf Finals.
Meek also carries a five-shot advantage into the final hole Tuesday. As he says, it’s a good thing he had such a sizable lead.
“I hit a drive that wasn’t that bad, then my second shot hit a tree and we lost it,” Meek said. “I had to go back and drop, and then I hit another tree but we found that one. I hit in the fairway and got it up on the green and three-putted for a nine.”
It’s a championship level recovery for Meek. He still tallies a 78 for the round and finishes +2 for the tournament to take home the Class-4 state title.
