Cardinals Siegrist rehabs in Springfield on Saturday

Springfield, MO - The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that Cardinals LHP Kevin Siegrist will make a Rehab Appearance for the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field this Saturday, July 12.

Siegrist, 24, took the big leagues by storm last season, posting a 3-1 record with a miniscule 0.45 ERA through 45 relief outings, playing an integral role in helping the Cardinals win the 2013 National League Championship. The southpaw made his Major League Debut on June 6, 2013, after stints in Springfield and Memphis early last year. Siegrist was one of five 2013 Springfield Cardinals to make their St. Louis debut last season.
This season, the Wellington, Florida native went 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA through 23 outings with St. Louis before being placed on the Disabled List. In his Major League career, Siegrist has logged a 4-2 record with an excellent 1.51 ERA through 68 games, tallying 77 strikeouts through 59.2 innings of work.
In addition to starting last season with Springfield, Siegrist was also a member of the Texas League Champion Springfield Cardinals in his first Double-A campaign in 2012. He was originally selected by St. Louis in the 41st Round of the 2008 June Draft out of Palm Beach Community College.
