Tyler Lyons to make Rehab Start in Springfield on Monday

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that Cardinals LHP Tyler Lyons will make a Rehab Start for the Springfield Cardinals this Monday, June 9. Monday's game is against the Tulsa Drillers with a 7:10pm First Pitch.

Lyons, 26, has made six outings and four starts for St. Louis this season, limiting opponents to two runs or fewer four times before being placed on the Disabled List. His finest Major League outing this year was on May 6 in Atlanta when he kept the Braves to only one run on four hits while striking out seven through six innings.

The Lubbock, Texas native started the 2014 campaign with the Memphis RedBirds, posting a 2-0 record with a 3.32 ERA through three starts before being recalled by St. Louis on April 21. He made his Major League debut with the Cardinals on May 22, 2013, appearing in 12 games and making eight starts for St. Louis last year.

Lyons was a Springfield Cardinal in 2012, going 5-4 with a 3.92 ERA through 12 starts before being promoted to Memphis. He was selected by St. Louis in the 9th round of the 2010 June Draft out of Oklahoma State University.
