Lady Bears' point guard Buer out for season

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Missouri State will be without the services of guard Karly Buer for the remainder of the season after an MRI confirmed the senior tore the ACL in her left knee last week at practice.

Buer played in the first 103 games of her MSU career with 78 starts, averaging 7.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest. She ranks eighth in Missouri State history with a career .831 free throw percentage, including a school-record .907 last season.

Buer will undergo surgery to repair the tear later this month. The average recovery time following ACL reconstruction surgery is 6-12 months.
