Lady Bears' Coach Harper gives birth to son



SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Missouri State women’s basketball head coach Kellie Harper and husband Jon welcomed their first child late Monday evening. The yet-be-to-named baby boy was born at 8:39 p.m., weighed seven pounds, one ounce, and measured 22 inches. 

Plans for the return of Harper to the sideline will be determined at a later date.
 
Statement from Coach Harper:
“Jon and I are very excited that our son has arrived. We look forward to raising him in such a great community, and I appreciate having this time to spend with family before returning to my coaching duties as soon as possible.”
