First statewide media football poll released



The media has released its first statewide football poll.

Webb City and Lamar start the season at No. 1 in their respective classes after winning state titles last season. Webb City goes for its fourth title in a row and 12th overall this season.

Bolivar and Hillcrest join Webb City among the top 10 in Class 4. The Liberators chime in at No. 4 to start the year and Hillcrest sits at No. 8.

Lamar has a lot of company in Class 2 with MV/BT Liberty sitting at No. 2 behind the Tigers. Fellow SCA member Mountain Grove is No. 5 and Strafford is No. 8. Liberty, Mountain Grove and Strafford all will face off in Distrct 3.

Camdenton and Ozark are ranked in the top 10 of Class 5 at Nos. 7 and 9. Kickapoo, Lebanob and Nixa all received votes in that class.

Cassville and Reeds Spring are back-to-back at Nos. 6 and 7 in Class 3 with Osage and Monett getting votes.

Thayer is the lone ranked Class 1 team in the area at No. 5 with Miller, Osceoka and Skyline getting votes.
