Reeds Spring, Mo. (For OzarksSportsZone.com) -- Rebuilding is the key word this year for the Reeds Spring cross country teams. Led by head coach Matt Locke and assistant coach Melissa Locke, the rebuilding process has already begun.
Gone from last year’s squads are Jonathon Locke and Matthew Tucker on the boys side and Josie Kibbe, Cheyenne Randle and Bailey Greiner for the girls. They gave the Wolves’ leadership and talent that will need to be replaced.
Coach Matt Locke is optimistic for the boys’ and girls’ teams as both return several letter-winners.
The boys are lead by Tony Miceli (all-conference, all-district, all-southwest area ), Bailey Sullivan, Ryan Tinnes, Alex Chandler, Anthony Battaglia, Aaron Bible, Ethan Greiner and Reno Randle.
The girls are led by Joey Ash (all-conference, all-district, and All-Southwest Area), Nikki Warren, (All-Southwest Area) Jordan Blevins, Darian Morris, Ashley Bauer, Kailey Gray, and Autumn Flaugh.
New to the Wolves are Scott Mueller, Nick Korth, Craig Foster and Justin Bible for the boys. The Lady Wolves will be joined by Tammy Draper, Maddie Giebler, and Kayla Dahms.
“Numbers are up and interest in working outside of the season is also strong,” said Locke. “Both teams show promise for the next several years. The boys and girls both are looking for a top four team finish in districts and to qualify at least two boys for state.”
Dorial Green-Beckham is now an Oklahoma Sooner.
