Teams set for Lions All-Star Classic games



Springfield, Mo. (OzarksSportsZone.com)  -- Rosters are out for the 36th annual Lions All-Star Basketball Classic, set for Saturday, June 8 at Baptist Bible College in Springfield. The annual event features the best graduating basketball seniors in the Springfield area.

Parkview’s Erik Durham and Kickapoo’s Chris Ward will lead the City Boys against an Area team that features the Nixa duo of Jalen Norman and Austin Ruder teaming alongside small-school stars Austin Essick (Billings) and Jordan Bowling (Crane).

All 10 players on the Area Girls’ roster will be playing a collegiate sport.

The action begins with the girls’ game at 6:30 p.m., followed by the boys’ game.

Coaches for the event are: Keri Nichols (City Girls/Parkview), Rory Henry (Area Girls/Walnut Grove), Bill Brown (City Boys/Parkview) and Mike Wilson (Area Boys/Strafford).
