Glendale pegs Branson's McTague as new basketball coach



Springfield Public Schools has hired Brian McTague as head boys basketball coach at Glendale High School. In his past eight years of coaching, he has achieved an overall record of 144-75.

McTague is currently employed by Branson Public Schools where he serves as head basketball coach. Previously, he was head coach for seven years at Clever High School where he led his team to district championship wins in 2008, 2009 and 2010. From 1998 to 2005, McTague worked as an assistant coach for the boys basketball team at Glendale.

McTague, a graduate of Missouri State University, has also been named COC 2012-2013 Coach of the Year and has been named District Coach of the Year three years in a row from 2008-2010.

His employment, which is pending final approval by the school board, will begin with the 2013-2014 school year.
