Marci Johnson named as new KHS volleyball coach



Springfield, Mo. -- Springfield Public Schools has hired Marci Johnson as head volleyball coach at Kickapoo High School.

Johnson, who replaces Debbie Downs, is currently employed by Springfield Catholic High School where she has served as head volleyball coach since 2009.

She played volleyball at Missouri Southern State University and was a state champion player when she attended Winona High School.

Johnson's employment, which is pending final approval by the school board, will begin with the 2013-2014 school year.
